Match Monkey (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our websites, mobile apps, and related services (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile

• Name, email address, profile photo, sports preferences, and skill level
• Authentication data from sign-in providers you choose (e.g. email, Apple)
• Merchant or coach onboarding details, payout information, and verification documents

Bookings and payments

• Reservation history, open-play listings, payment proof, status, and venue payment-method selections
• Merchant and coach platform-billing metadata processed by Polar; Polar is used for B2B platform fees only, not player checkout (we do not store full card numbers)

Location

With your permission, we collect approximate or precise location to show nearby courts, venues, and events. You can disable location access in your device settings; some features may not work without it.

Social and communications

• Posts, reels, comments, messages, community membership, and in-app gifts or badges
• Media you upload (photos and videos) and related metadata

Device and usage

• Device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and crash or performance logs
• How you interact with the Service (pages viewed, taps, search queries)

2. How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve bookings, venue-direct payment confirmation, feeds, and messaging
• Verify merchants, coaches, venue payment methods, and platform-billing accounts; prevent fraud and abuse
• Send transactional messages (confirmations, reminders, security alerts)
• Personalize recommendations, including nearby venues and social content
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

3. How we share information

We may share information with:

• Other users — profile details and content you choose to make visible (e.g. public posts, open-play listings)
• Merchants and coaches — booking and contact details needed to fulfill reservations
• Service providers — hosting, analytics, authentication, email delivery, customer support, and B2B platform billing through Polar. Merchant-configured gateways may process player payments directly for the merchant; Match Monkey does not receive those funds.
• Legal and safety — when required by law or to protect users, the platform, or the public

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Our web app uses cookies and local storage for sign-in sessions, theme preferences, and performance. You can control cookies through your browser; disabling them may limit functionality.

5. Data retention

We retain information while your account is active and as needed for legal, accounting, or security purposes. You may request deletion of your account by contacting info@matchmonkey.net.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your choices and rights

• Update profile information in account settings
• Control location, camera, and photo permissions on your device
• Adjust notification preferences where available
• If you enable push notifications in the player app, we store a device-specific push endpoint and keys required to deliver alerts to that browser or installed app
• Request access, correction, or deletion subject to applicable law

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards when data crosses borders.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material updates may also be communicated in-app or by email.
